The Gap's fall shoes are finally in! Well, sort of. Here's the daily update.
Unless you're a size 39 (two pairs left) or a 41 (one left) and are within a five-minute sprinting distance of Fifth Avenue and 54th Street, don't bother with that Gap location. They only received five pairs of the wedges and we witnessed one girl buying two pairs at 10:04am. We have to admit that finally seeing the shoes in person was sort of anti-climactic, but a staffer said that a small crowd was anxiously waiting outside the store before opening.
The wait was probably for the killer platform lace-ups, though. The same staffer also told us that the store received five pairs those, but in black, not brown, and all pairs are are completely dunzo for now. Sadly, she did not have an ETA of the next shipment, either.
The situation is more promising at the Times Square location. We spoke to a staffer over the phone who confirmed that both the black Pierre Hardy wedges and also the black lace-up platforms are in stock. He said that there are "a few sizes" available in each style as of this morning. We do, however, take the estimate with a grain of salt since yesterday, they were asking around for the status of the "Peter Harvey" shoes.
The 34th Street Gap outpost is a total bust for now as they have not received any shipments, but a staffer still suggests checking back on Thursday. On the bright side though, that means there's still a chance to snag a pair later on this week.
