The Gap has issued a third launch date for their fall Pierre Hardy collection, and this time it sounds like it's going to stick. Instead of coming out October 19 or October 28, the shoes will hit stores next Monday, October 25. Look for them at Gaps at 650 Fifth Avenue, 60 W. 34th Street, and 1466 Broadway starting Monday morning.
While the Gap confirmed reports that they'd only produced one pair of Pierre Hardy designs, the latest press release has two styles: The black booties and a pair of brown lace-up boots. The latter pair, however, aren't Pierre Hardy designer edition—they're plain old Gap brand. But—the plot thickens!—they are the sky-high platforms that appeared in the Gap's pant lookbook along with the Pierre Hardy shoes. And they'll soon be joined by their equally awe-inspiring platform bootie siblings.
Turns out, the Gap never actually said those platforms were by Pierre Hardy. If you go back and look at the blog post by Geometric Sleep that started the initial shoe frenzy, you'll see that she writes:
The little lace-up peeptoe wedges are from Pierre Hardy, and I'm especially fond of that murky green/gray color on the bottom right. The insane boots are from Gap's mainline and I love their Proenza Schouler meets hiking/duck-boots situations. So the reports (which we reblogged) that the Gap hadn't produced the other three shoes were inaccurate. And when the Gap's PR said that they'd only produced one style, they meant of Pierre Hardy boots, not of all four shoes.
Which brings us to the really good news: Those other two styles from the lookbook—the sea-foam green booties and the rugged brown ones—are coming out in December. The Gap hasn't released a launch date yet, but we'll let you know when we hear.
