In celebration of the World Cup 2010, Nike will open up a soccer, er, football (tomato, tomah-to) themed pop-up and creative art space on the Bowery, majestically dubbed Nike Stadium. Along with creative exhibits, the space will feature interactive games, lockers for local sports teams (very thoughtful) and, of course, Nike products based on the World Cup 2010 game calendar. Nike Stadiums will also pop up in cities that like soccer more than we do: London, Berlin, Paris, Milan and Tokyo. The pop-up opens this Thursday and and it's a bit cryptic as to the duration of the temporary space. Bowery Boogie reports that the pop-up will only run through Sunday, however, the Nike Stadium site makes big promises with the phrase "We are always open, always on."
