Starting today at 11:30am and running until Friday evening, the semiannual Tocca sample sale discounts its feminine frocks and perfumed candles 60% or more. Last night was for friends & family (which you are if you've ever been to one of their sales before), and so we stopped by their 3rd floor showroom, above the Balenciaga store on West 22nd Street.
If you know of Tocca, then you're aware that their designs are very sweet; imagine lots of embroidery details, lace and small floral prints. It also helps if you are small-chested, since Tocca frocks aren't cut to accommodate ample bosoms. The sale selection of dresses, mostly of the spring and summer variety, are running between $85 and $35, when they usually bring in $200+, so that's a big plus if you're a fan. There's even a pile of brown embroidered skirts for $20.
Moving on to the candles and body products, since we know that these are hot gift items, the discounts aren't all that great, but Tocca is rarely discounted, so perhaps it's time to stock up on hostess gifts. Small candles without boxes are 2 for $15, with box is $10 each, and large candles are $20 (see more prices in the gallery above). The best deal at the sale seems to be the 2-for-$5 liquid dishsoap deal, since they're discontinuing the dishsoap completely.
This sale has the most Tocca items we've ever seen at one of their sales, and some truly breathtaking pieces for size 4s with no boobs. Speaking of no boobs, the toddler clothing was beyond cute; like you will totally want to squeeze its cheeks, but it's only a really darling dress.
