The Louis Féraud inaugural sample sale opened to the public yesterday offering 70% to 90% off womenswear. Louis Féraud made a name for itself as a couturier, so we dropped by this morning out of curiosity about the deals on the ready-to-wear line. Imagine our delight when we also discovered a discount treasure trove of Manolos and a few Loubs, plus racks full of discounted Richard Chai and Mara Hoffman. Sneaky, sneaky, Misorena!
But first to the matter at hand: Louis Féraud. While the discounts are massive, the clothes are, well, old, like floral-short-sleeve-big-button-jackets-old. So, if you're shopping for work clothes, mom, Aunt Sally...you get our drift, here's a sampling of what we found: cropped black tuxedo jacket for $145 (from $1125), tops starting around $70 (for a stretchy long sleeve top), silk blouses starting at $85 (from $600+), short sleeve black day dress with square black studs for $160 (from $1225), fuschia ruched rope twist strap cocktail dress for $155 (from $1225) and a red silk spaghetti strap floor length evening gown for $280 (from $2145).
There is a limited stash of very random Manolo Blahniks (strappies, pumps, sandals) and a few Christian Louboutins (worn samples) running $150 to $350. There's a better selection of Richard Chai open toed zip gladiators in blue for $250. Sizes are equally as random. Head to the back left for the multiple racks of Richard Chai clothes, priced as marked. We loved the dresses, including a white sundress for $195 and a sleeveless silk two-toned dress with pockets and a rough waist for $345. Past the Chai, there is one Mara Hoffman rack full of $75 tops and $95 dresses. We were tempted by the spaghetti strap maxi dresses with peacock flowy skirts and a sexy draped stretchy peacock blue top.
As with all the 260 Fifth sales, there is a bag check at the front, although they seem to be more relaxed with the warmer weather. There is also a fitting area in the back. Louis Féraud is available in sizes 0 to 16, while all other labels have random sizes. Cash and credit are both accepted.
