Norma Kamali on West 56th Street has a new neighbor. Proper English cobblers Crockett & Jones are finally getting a United States storefront of their own, after spending some time on the shelves of other stores like Turnbull & Asser and Barneys. The new shop is small; nothing huge and flashy needed for this brand, since the quality and craftsmanship of their men's and women's shoes speak for themselves.
There's no official opening date yet, but we do know that they are aiming for April?perfect time for the spring cleaning of the closets and investing in a good pair of new shoes. Prices for Crockett & Jones shoes sit squarely in the $450-$600 range; a saddle shoe is $550, while a classic Chelsea boot is $595.
The new shop will be only a few doors down from the newest Momofuku restaurant Ma Peche, so perhaps a few foodies will stop in and binge in their postprandial bliss?
