Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.
We're getting this month's Racked Fit Club in just before the cutoff with our friends at Xtend Barre in Brooklyn Heights. This Saturday, May 30th, at 12:30pm, join us for an hour-long fusion of ballet, dance, and Pilates led by Amber Nalle that works on both lengthening and strengthening muscles while improving flexibility and balance. This class is suitable for all levels of fitness, so there's no excuse if you haven't worked out in a while or don't know the first thing about barre (you can practice some moves beforehand, if you'd like).
Students should arrive 15 minutes early for check-in and set-up, and come dressed in comfy, stretchy athletic gear and socks—grip socks are preferred, if you've got them. Bring along a water bottle, or pick one up for a buck at the front desk—towels and mats will be provided. The studio's located on the second floor of 147 Remsen Street, and it's super close to several subway lines at the Borough Hall, Court Street, and Jay Street stops.
Want in on the action? We've got 18 spots to fill. Send an email here with the subject line "Racked Fit Club" and your name in the body of the email. We're accepting participants on a first-come, first-serve basis—and sorry, we can't accept reservations for friends; each person who wants to attend must send a separate email.
Update: The class is now full—thanks to everyone that signed up!
Anyone who sends an email after the class is filled will be put on the wait list, and we'll notify you if space frees up.
