The ratio of outlet stores to regular stores at the forthcoming Staten Island outlet mall is currently 1:1. H&M announced this morning that it'll have a 26,000-square-foot store at Empire Outlets when it opens on Black Friday in 2016, and all signs point to this just being a regular store, as opposed to an off-price outlet. It'll be the borough's second outpost for the Swedish retailer—the other one is at the (regular, non-outlet) Staten Island Mall, which is gaining a Primark next year.
This is the second Empire Outlets store announcement, following the Nordstrom Rack reveal last summer. Prior to that, the real estate firm developing the mall site that comes complete with a massive Ferris wheel said that they're bringing in "high-end European brands...the usual suspects." Expect a massive rollout of these "suspects" as we get closer to the opening date.
