The much-anticipated, bi-annual Patrik Ervell sample sale is here and it is fully stocked with sweaters for both men and women, with a major emphasis on menswear. We braved the snow last night for a sneak peek and we found a great variety of men's shirts for all seasons, with prices that started at $65 for short sleeve button-ups and went up to $120 for heavy denim and corduroy shirts. We even spotted full size runs in some styles.
For those who are still building a winter wardrobe, the racks of outerwear for men were full of great deals. From the classic peacoat for $330 to wool bomber jackets, there was something for everyone. Winter weight track pants were priced at $135 and wool trousers at $100.
The popular pocket sweaters (made of baby alpaca) are available in abundance this season, going for $135 and sure to be the first things to go. We were excited to see new sweaters in graphic knits and vibrant colors. The classic fisherman sweaters were available for men and women for $165. We were told they will replenish sizes as needed, but be sure to ask the helpful sales staff for more sizes.
If you are thinking spring, like most of us are, don't fret, there are plenty of printed graphic tees for $50, lightweight trousers and shorts in graphic prints and spring colors. We even spotted pieces from the Spring 2015 runway thrown in the mix. Long line coats and waterproof blazers were $300.
Shoes from the menswear runway shows were $60, while a few pairs of Red Wings were only $80. We only spotted one backpack at the sale, which is sure to go fast. There were baseball hats on shelves and knit hats, tote bags and miscellaneous women's shoes in bins.
Since Patrik Ervell no longer designs a women's collection, the rack of womenswear was mostly leftover pieces from previous sample sales. Even so, the spring dresses still felt fresh and wearable.
All prices will be slashed over the weekend, with men's shirts going down to around $70 on Sunday. There are no fitting rooms, just a few full length mirrors at the sale.
Friday, March 6th through Sunday, March 8th. Daily 11am—6pm. 35 Howard St between Broadway and Lafayette St, 4th floor, buzzer #6 (646-912-9083).
