Legendary footwear designer Vince Camuto has died, our national site writes. WWD originally reported that the Nine West co-founder and owner of his eponymous, multi-billion dollar fashion brand passed away from complications with cancer in his Greenwich, CT home yesterday. He was 78.
The New York City-born-and-raised Camuto currently has seven Manhattan stores, and worked his way through the fashion ranks over six decades by putting his customer first. "I really listened and learned, especially from the women," he had previously told WWD. "They told you what they liked, what they didn't like."
