Mackenzi Farquer has just opened Lockwood Style down the street from her Astoria lifestyle shop, Lockwood. The boutique caters to women of all shapes, with clothes from sizes 2 through 20.
"We hope this larger size range will help set us apart from other clothing stores in the city and will allow women of a range of shapes and sizes to feel comfortable shopping with us," Farquer explains on her neighborhood blog, We Heart Astoria.
Inside, expect to shop brands like BB Dakota, Dolce Vita, and local plus-size label Cabiria, most of which is clothing, though about 30% of stock is devoted to shoes, bags, and other accessories. Prices are generally affordable, which Farquer says was a major goal for the store: Jeans are around $75, dresses $45 to $150, and bags are $40 and up.
For an easy excuse to visit the store, head over to the champagne-infused grand opening party on November 7th at 6pm.
