Welcome to Racked NY's search for New York City's hottest trainer. Over the coming weeks, we'll profile sixteen smoking candidates who work at local gyms and studios. (Not only do they look hot in spandex, but if you take their classes, you might someday look nearly as good.) Then, once you've gotten to know everyone, we'll host a March Madness-style showdown in which you get to vote for your favorite. Let the games begin!
Our first hottest trainer contestant is Holly Rilinger. She's been a trainer for ten years, and for the past four, New York City women have flocked to her one-on-one outdoor Training Camp classes to get whipped into shape. Holly also takes her program to the Hamptons and abroad—the next stop for her Destination Training Camp is the West Indies. When she's not busy doing that, she also teaches spin at FlyWheel.
Before becoming a trainer, Holly played professional basketball at the humble height of 5'4". (In 1993, USA Today even named her the #1 female freshman point guard.) Since she clearly knows what she's talking about when it comes to being fit, she offered us this tidbit of advice: "Happiness plays a huge role in being healthy and lean. Choose everyday how you feel. I tell my clients that it's not just about how many calories you burn, it's how you feel that will determine your success. I call it the Joy Factor."
